In June, the Adore team had the pleasure of attending the 2026 Perth Home Show, which allowed us to identify some of the most loved trends of 2026 and forecast furniture trends going into 2027. We had the opportunity to connect with local homeowners, interior design lovers and families who were actively exploring new furniture ideas for their homes.

Rather than simply presenting our products, we wanted to take the time to listen. Throughout the show, we spoke with visitors and asked a few simple questions to better understand what matters most when they choose furniture for their living spaces.

Sofa Styles: Do Western Australians Favour Recliners or Non-Recliners?

One of the key questions we asked was whether customers were looking for a recliner or a non-recliner sofa. This opened up many interesting conversations about lifestyle and comfort. Some customers were drawn to recliners for their relaxation features, especially for family rooms, theatre rooms or everyday lounging. Others preferred non-recliner sofas for their clean lines, modern appearance and flexible styling.

It's clear that the way Australians use their living rooms continues to evolve. For many families, the sofa has become the heart of the home; used for everything from movie nights and entertaining, to working from home and unwinding at the end of the day. As a result, homeowners are no longer choosing between comfort or style; they're looking for sofas that deliver both. Heading into 2027, we're seeing growing demand for deeper seats, softer silhouettes and modular designs that create a relaxed, inviting feel while maintaining a clean, contemporary aesthetic. Whether reclining or not, today's sofas are designed to complement modern lifestyles as much as modern interiors.

Sofa Fabrics: Which Do Perth Homeowners Prefer?

We also asked visitors whether they preferred fabric or leather sofas - and the results were varied. 

Fabric sofas remained a popular choice for Western Australians looking to create a warm, cosy and inviting feeling in their homes. Leather, on the other hand, appealed to customers seeking a premium look without sacrificing practicality. What became clear is that in 2026, choosing a sofa fabric is about more than appearance. It is closely connected to each customer’s unique lifestyle: how their homes function, how they entertain or relax, and whether comfort, maintenance or design is their highest priority.

Marble, Ceramic Or Timber? Choosing The Right Dining Table For You

Dining tables sparked just as many conversations as sofas, with visitors sharing their preferences for marble, ceramic and timber dining tables. Each material appealed for different reasons: 

• Marble tabletops created a sense of luxury and elegance

• Ceramic tabletops stood out for its modern look and practicality

• Wood tabletops continued to appeal to those who prefer warmth, natural texture and timeless style.

Together, these conversations revealed one of the biggest Perth furniture trends for 2026: homeowners are looking for furniture that balances personal style with everyday practicality.

The 2026 Home Show reinforced the importance of understanding how Perth homeowners use their spaces. Whether they're furnishing a family home or updating a single room, people want pieces that not only look beautiful but also suit the way they live and reflect their individual style.
